A Day in the Life
How does a day in my life go by?
Every day is an adventure, because no day is the same. My toddlers believe in chaos. {I say they get that from their father.}
7:30am - Toddler 1 wakes up and wakes Toddler 2. I pretend not to notice and try to hit the invisible snooze button, but eventually they wake the baby (who is usually in bed with me) and the day begins whether I like it or not.
7:45am - 3 diaper changes, 2 sippy cups, 2 breakfasts, 1 {large} cup of coffee, 1 hungry Baby Boy.
8:15am - Feed Baby Boy and supervise the aforementioned 2 breakfasts (or they generally end up more on the floor than in little bellies)...
9:00am - Toddlers play with their toys, {and/or anything else they can get their mitts on} while Mommy attempts to juggle a baby that just wants to be held and check her Email/Facebook/Google Reader/Twitter/Etc... riiiight.
9:05am - Toddlers: "We need more soymilk/juice/water!" Refill sippy cups.
9:10am - Mommy goes back to the office. "Get out of the bathroom!" "Be nice to your sister!" "PLEASE use your listening ears!"
9:15am - "Toddler 2 needs a new diaper!" Change diaper, check Toddler 1 who is dry - ask her if she needs to use the potty. She answers "No, I don't have to pee."
9:20am - Back to the office I go. "Toddler 2 don't pound on the furniture!" "Did you BITE her?!" (I really got to say that last one just 2 minutes ago.)
9:25am - Toddler 2: "Mommy! I wet my diaper!" Srsly. Change Baby Boy too.
9:30am - Daddy calls from work to make sure Mommy hasn't lost her mind yet. She has.
9:45am - Baby Boy's hungry! And this is the time of day he's in the BEST mood. I get a lot of smiles so I try and enjoy them. :))) (And take a lot of photos!)
10:00am - I love Sesame Street.
11:00am - NAPTIME! {Elmo voice: YAAAAAY!}
Clean up, pick up, pay bills, zone out, more baby feeding, more diaper changing, etc...
When the kiddos wake it's more diaper changes, lunch or snacks, get them dressed, get ME dressed, sometimes color, sometimes games, sometimes let them run wild in the backyard.
2:00pm - Daddy's home. {Elmo voice again: YAAAAAAY!}
Toddlers watch a Disney movie.
Daddy cooks dinner.
Notice activity getting sparse? That's because by this time my head is all a-blur.
6:30pm - Bathtime. Brush teeth. Toddlers in bed. Daddy reads a story. Mommy sings them "Their songs". Toddler 1 is Baby Mine. Toddler 2 is 3 Little Birds. Baby Boy loves Johnny Cash. (Yes, Johnny Cash.)
Daddy is off to bed at 9:00pm too.
Enjoy the silence and pray for the weekend when Daddy is home all day.
Repeat.
Dear Lord. Repeat.

Some people have had some problems posting comments because of the word verification, so until I figure out where I mis-coded it has been turned off. : ) Sorry about that!
What a sweet man you have, he's so helpful! Sounds like your days are busy but great overall. =)
i'm jealous of a daddy that comes home early and does so much.
I'm a lucky lady fersher! I don't know how I'd make it through any day without him.
Man... I thought I had it rough with 2 under 3. I totally understand why you have to do sanity checks throughout the day! :) My hubby asks me all the time "Are you sure you're alright?" I love the times when I can say, "No - I need 10 minutes." and he actually responds with an "Okay, I guess." Those are sacred to me!
Thanks for stoppin' by and leavin' a comment on my page! :)
